As a Security Engineer, you will be working with the MoneyLion Cybersecurity team as well as product, data and AI engineering in implementing architectural best practices, inclusively in software design, deployment workflow and infrastructure provisioning. You will be tasked with designing and driving security improvement initiatives across frameworks, applications and infrastructure. You will also be expected to provide expertise and guidance on the technical aspect of cybersecurity to the engineering team in addition to identifying gaps in development workflow practices to ensure security best practices are implemented to cover the gaps.

What you’ll do:

  • Be a part of the team that drives and implements the DevSecOps process
  • Microservices API security design and development
  • Lead effort in creating application level threat modelling and attack tree
  • Development of custom security automation scripts
  • Credential and secret management adoption and improvements
  • Be the SME in fixing security vulnerabilities that are discovered by the automated tools or manual security testing
  • Work closely with the product engineering team to develop secure software and services
  • Work closely with the QA team to guide and coach the QA team to perform baseline security testing.
  • Deploy, improve and maintain IaC security scanning
  • Deploy, improve and maintain Software Composition Analysis
  • Deploy, improve and maintain Static Application Security Testing (SAST)

What we’re looking for:

  • Well-versed in one programming language, regardless if it's compiled or interpreted, and open to learning and picking up different technology as necessary
  • Familiar with operating on native cloud environments.
  • Knowledge on AWS and security best practices on AWS
  • Knowledge on containers technology like Docker and Kubernetes
  • You like to read and understand the technicalities of how security vulnerabilities work
  • Preferably having at least 1 year of technical experience in software engineering
  • Obsessed with writing testable software, guarded with unit tests and integration tests

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Deep understanding on data and database security
  • Deep understanding on application vulnerabilities management
  • Any cybersecurity related technical certification
