About the Role

The VP of Fraud Risk Management is responsible for managing all aspects of Fraud Risk Management, including fraud strategy, analytics, operations, and vendor management.

We are currently seeking a senior leader to lead MoneyLion’s enterprise Fraud Risk Management function. This critical role will lead a team to develop and implement the organization’s fraud strategy and framework, structuring the policies, processes, and tools that are needed to ensure the prevention, detection, and investigation of fraud, suspicious activity, and recovery in a highly regulated environment. Additionally, this role will direct and supervise the day-to-day operations of the fraud operations and investigations teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in the FinTech and payments space, exceptional people leadership skills, and be very much hands-on with analytics. You will come in and hit the ground running with all the resources needed, combined with your experience, to build a top-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of all fraud risk management strategy and functions including account and payments fraud, approval/decline, operations, collections, policies and procedures, technology, and developing strategies.
  • Act as the bridge between Fraud Strategy and key business stakeholders/partners, driving the control of the operating environment and forming/delivering the strategic direction of fraud mitigation activities across the organization.
  • Develop the fraud road maps and deployment of successful fraud countermeasures across the customer life cycle, and across different products within the organization.
  • Leverage deep subject matter expertise and data drive analyses to offer senior management and executive team on options to mitigate future risks and prevent future fraud losses
  • Oversee building and managing an operational risk/fraud team overseeing our digital banking, lending and investment products
  • Work cross-functionally with AI/tech teams to deploy machine learning risk models
  • Partner with legal/compliance teams to manage all fraud-related regulatory and reporting requirements

About You

  • 10+ years of relevant fraud risk experience within the financial services sector, including 3+ years leading and coordinating enterprise-wide fraud risk initiatives and operations. Fintech/payments experience preferred
  • Broad understanding of the financial industry’s competitive landscape and what industry standard is for mitigating fraud
  • Strong ability to define success metrics for fraud
  • Familiar with various fraud mitigating strategies for any given problem in the banking /payments industry
  • Experience building fraud policies and monitoring performance throughout the organization
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills working cross-functionally. Collaboration is an essential skill set for this leader to possess as it is expected that they can resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring influencing senior leaders and stakeholders across all departments
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively to all levels of employees within the organization as well as to our Board of Directors
