About the Role

We are looking for a bright and motivated Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. As Corporate Counsel, you will be a key member of our legal department, working collaboratively with business teams to help develop, build and launch innovative financial products while managing legal and regulatory risk. Top candidates will have an understanding of relevant legal issues and the drive and creativity to find pragmatic solutions to advance our business. We are seeking an attorney who enjoys wearing multiple hats, proactively takes on new responsibilities and is excited by the challenge of providing legal services at a dynamic, fast growing fintech company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with business, product and technology teams to provide legal guidance across product categories
  • Structure, draft and review consumer agreements, promotional and marketing materials and related terms and conditions
  • Monitor and interpret laws, rulings and regulations involving the company’s business lines, including consumer banking, lending, investing and payments
  • Provide legal and commercial advice with respect to our business activities as well as general corporate, litigation and regulatory matters
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance team members to enhance legal operations and processes
  • Review and negotiate vendor and service provider agreements; manage day-to-day interactions with business partners, outside counsel, and other parties

About You

  • 3 to 6 years of relevant law firm or in-house experience; a background working in fintech / regulated consumer-facing financial services a plus
  • JD Degree from an accredited law school and license in good standing to practice law in the United States
  • Knowledge of banking, consumer finance and/or securities laws and regulations; data privacy and protection knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in providing legal counsel for the development and launch of consumer-facing products or services while identifying business risks and requirements resulting from evolving laws and regulations; prior work with technology companies preferred
  • Experience managing regulatory audits and examinations and litigation matters
  • Comfortable in dynamic, fast-paced environments, with an entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do the work
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills that allow you to make clear, pragmatic recommendations
